POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD OUTAGES/SYSTEM DISTURBANCES IS HIGH THROUGH AFTERNOON HOURS OF 3/23/19.  MOISTURE CONTENT OF THE SNOW IN THIS STORM IS VERY HIGH, AND WINDS WILL BE INCREASING WITH GUSTS PREDICTED UP TO 40 MPH.  TREES WILL BE DAMAGED AND WILL RESULT IN POWER OUTAGES (DUE TO THE SNOW LOADING AS WELL AS THE WIND).  HED IS FULLY STAFFED AND PREPARED TO RESPOND.  FIRST OUTAGE RELATED TO THIS WEATHER EVENT OCCRRED AT 10 AM ON 3/22/19, AND OUTAGES ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE UNTIL LATE AFTERNOON ON 3/23/19.

 As a result of the strong winds event we’ve had during the last 30 hours HED experienced two events. 

  • Currently westerly wind gusts across primarily higher terrain
